It has been almost a quarter of a century since her last performance on Australian soil – now, at the age of 56, Madonna is set to return as part of her Rebel Heart tour. Billboard has confirmed that the Living for Love star will visit Asia and Australia in early 2016. She is touring to promote her 13th studio album, which will be released this week through Interscope Records.

The last time Madonna played to Australian audiences was in 1993, when her Girlie Show: Live Down Under tour rocked crowds at the Sydney Cricket Ground in what became an HBO special broadcast on television. Dates have not be established for the Australian leg of the tour, however a statement on Madonna’s website says they will be announced soon.

‘Don’t Go to Awards Shows Looking for Justice’

Madonna has some solid advice for Kanye West, who co-produced several tracks on her new album, Rebel Heart, including the excellent “Illuminati”: “Don’t go to awards shows looking for justice,” she says in interviews for Rolling Stone’s new cover story. “That’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Just go and have fun. I never got too engaged with who wins awards or not, because I don’t honestly think it’s that important. So that part of him I can’t relate to. Like, what’s the point of fighting for somebody to … like, ‘This person should have got it?’… I think sometimes he takes things too seriously.”

Madonna Heading for 71st Top 40 U.K. Single

UK FANS! “Living For Love” is top 40 bound on the Official U.K. Singles Chart. Following her show-closing performance on the Brit Awards (Feb. 25), Madonna is set to debut in the top 40 of the Official U.K. Singles Chart on Sunday (March 1) with “Living For Love.” The Official Charts Company reported that it would mark the diva’s 71st top 40 hit. It would also extend her record as the woman with the most top 40 singles in U.K. chart history.

The Official Charts Company said on Feb. 27 that “Living For Love” is about 1,000 downloads away from the top 20, and nearly 11,000 copies separates the single from the top 10.

Madonna on Stage Fall

Madonna sat down with The Jonathan Ross Show for a special episode set to air March 14th on ITV to discuss her new album Rebel Heart as well as the epic fail.

I didn’t hurt my butt, I hurt my head. I did,” Madonna tells Ross. “I know how to fall, I’ve fallen off my horse many times and I tucked and I have good core strength… but the thing is, I had a little bit of a whiplash and I smacked the back of my head so there was a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3 a.m. making sure that I was still compos mentis.”

Because of the “Living for Love” lyrics – “Took me to heaven and let me fall down / Now that it’s over I’m gonna carry on / Lifted me up and watched me stumble /After the heartache I’m gonna carry on” – fans questioned whether Madonna’s fall was perhaps a stunt. While Madonna denied that her stage gaffe was planned, she did recognize the coincidence. “I’m never writing lyrics like that again! The universe was trying to teach me a lesson I guess,” she said. Madonna further elaborated on how exactly the wardrobe malfunction resulted in her falling backwards onto the ground.
